Through the integration of evolution into the stories and traits of characters present in the fictional worlds created by Disney and Marvel, Darwin’s theory of natural selection as well as Richard Dawkins’ Memes, Social Darwinism, and Lamarckian progressive evolution is analyzed. The bodies of characters, whether physically or metaphorically, experience transformations akin to evolutionary adaptations, are transmitters for cultural values and understandings, and are manifestations where science clashes with culture.
