“Thursday” is a queer exploration through dance. This piece is about the space between two female peers. Whether one feels lust or love, some passions and obstructions induce an obsessive mental state that demand physical expression. The ever flowing, closing and opening of positive and negative space between these two bodies inquire about the nature of woman-to-woman and the discourse of possibilities that can arise within a queer woman who lives in a world obsessed over man.
Is this gay? Is this queer? Is this heteroflexible? Does it matter?
“Don’t blame your lover. Don’t blame your heart. Don’t blame the people – they just do what they know.
…I’ll be that friend. I’ll be that girl you see.”
