I’ve learned a lot from things I can’t remember. I chase my tail with constant habits that keep me stuck and keep me trying to forget the things that make intimacy both on a platonic connection level, but especially anything romantic, insanely difficult. For me intimacy relates to both vulnerability and belonging. When intimacy feels unfathomable so does trust in vulnerability and any sense that the whole self could belong. My goal in this was to express how trauma makes intimacy feel as well as my own hopes for how intimacy could become a safe part of my life.
