Immigrant

TITLE: Immigrant

AUTHOR: Nicole Connolly

CATEGORY: Space & Place

CREATOR COMMENTARY:

This poem explores the invisible power of the country in which one lives.  A nation’s social, economic, and political structures can direct a person’s life.  In order to escape this, one may choose to immigrate to another country, another space and place with new power structures.  This may be done with hope, without realizing that there are problematic structures everywhere.
