These images play with the duality between technology and nature. We’re all familiar with nature photography and post hiking shots on Instagram, but those are just simulations of the real thing. Ceci n’est pas une pipe, you know? This photograph was heavily edited and then glitched, drawing attention to the artificiality of the final image. We feel like being in nature is “coming home,” but maybe we’re blind to the layers of simulation obscuring the real thing.
